Real Estate Law Question?!?!?

A house was listed for $47,000 by a realtor. It is a short sale. We put in a contract to purchase the home offering them the full asking price of $47,000. They replied saying that they now needed $50,500. Is that legal? Wouldn't it be false advertising? Raising the price after we put the contract in at the price they advertised?
